Get in touch.
Questions about a calculator, corrections to outdated rebate amounts, suggestions for new calculators, partnership inquiries, or just feedback. All of it is welcome.
Replies usually within a few days. This is a one-person project, so response times depend on what else is going on.
What to email about
A few examples of things worth reaching out about:
- Corrections. If you spot a rebate amount, utility rate, or tax credit that's out of date or wrong, please let me know. Include the calculator name and what you think the correct number should be (with a source link if you have one).
- Calculator suggestions. Is there a California-specific energy decision that doesn't have a good calculator yet? Tell me about it.
- Methodology questions. If you want to know exactly how a calculator arrives at its number, ask. Happy to walk through it.
- Partnership or collaboration inquiries. If you run a related site, work in California energy policy, or have data that could improve the calculators, get in touch.
- Press or media inquiries. Anyone covering California electrification, rebate programs, or consumer energy tools is welcome to reach out.
What this email is not for
- Installation quotes or contractor referrals. This site doesn't sell leads or refer to specific contractors. For quotes, get three from local licensed installers and compare them yourself.
- Personalized energy advice. The calculators give estimates based on inputs, but I can't act as your personal energy consultant. For tailored advice, your utility's free home energy advisor service is a much better resource.
- Rebate application help. Each rebate program has its own application process and support contacts. Calculator results link to the official program pages where you can apply directly.
Quick answers to common questions
The calculators use real utility rates, current rebate amounts, and standard equipment performance assumptions. Estimates are in the right ballpark for most California homes, but actual results depend on your specific home, equipment choice, contractor pricing, and timing. Always get installer quotes before making a financial decision.
No. The calculators run in your browser and your inputs aren't transmitted anywhere. If you sign up for email updates or purchase a guide, that information is used only for that purpose. See the privacy policy for details.
Rebate amounts and utility rates are reviewed when program changes are announced. For absolute accuracy on a specific rebate, always check the program's official site before counting on a number. Links to official sources are included in calculator results.
Probably not. California-specific is the whole point of this site. The rate structures, climate zones, and rebate landscape are too different state-to-state to do well without making each one its own project. If your state needs better calculators, that's a project worth doing, but not under this domain.
The guide downloads automatically after Stripe confirms payment. If something went wrong, email contact@caenergysavings.com with your Stripe receipt and I'll resend the file.
Yes, for personal use, social posts, or non-commercial sharing, please do. For commercial use, journalism, or republishing on another site, email first and we'll work something out.
